HBJ's Proud Grey Lady ring is a handmade homage to the inclusivity and beauty of the LGBTQ community.
Vibrant, strong, resilient and proud—15% of proceeds from this handmade, limited edition ring benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation. As we celebrate Pride this month (and specifically this weekend in Boston), the whole studio is proud to stand with the LGBTQ community everyday, but particularly as we celebrate the depth and beauty of its members.
The Cameo collection's Grey Ladies are inherently at peace with themselves, making them the ideal vessel for the gemstones that illustrate the LGBTQ flag. One of the ways HBJ wanted to celebrate pride is through encouraging others to embrace and love themselves, and their colors!
The original rainbow Pride flag was created in 1978 by queer artist Gilbert Baker at the request of civil and human rights leader Harvey Milk. The original colors each symbolized various attributes including: life, healing, sunlight, nature, magic, harmony and spirit.
The flag has since taken on many iterations and styles since its debut, but the original sentiments of resilience, joy, celebration and unity hold true.
Happy Pride from HBJ!
