Varying river-blue hues flow through drops of opals in these limited-edition Garden earrings. Adorned with hand-carved roses, these organically refined earrings come in either 14k gold or sterling silver.  

These earrings are limited edition. Once sold out, these earrings will no longer be available. Please note: each pair of earrings will vary in pattern and color due to the nature of the opals. 

The 14k gold edition features opals with a deep blue hue, while the sterling silver edition features opals with morning fog blue.

Metal

WEARS WELL WITH

These earrings feature blue common opal from Oregon, US. The gold version is a deep, rich blue and the silver version is a morning fog blue.

Roses are hand-carved.

Select one of two metal options:
•Bright solid sterling silver (ear wires, roses, and bail). Weight approx. 2.6 grams each.
•Solid 14k yellow gold (ear wires, roses, and bail). Weight is approx. 2.7 grams each.

Length is 46mm from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the stone. Width is 8mm at its widest point.

The roses have a matte finish.

Common opal does not have play-of-color or fire of traditional precious opal. It tends to come in opaque, dreamy colors with various color patterns and matrices. It is known to be more gentle and soothing than precious opal, and the HBJ studio is particularly enamored with the lush, cool blue hues of blue common opal.
MOHs Hardness: 5.5-6.5
Origins: Rajasthan, India and Oregon, USA
Care: All opals are fragile like glass: be extra careful to avoid abrasive surfaces, and avoid knocking your opal against hard surfaces. Extreme temperature shifts can cause cracks. To keep your opal clean, use warm water with mild soap and a soft toothbrush or cloth. Do not use a steam cleaner or ultrasonic cleaner.
